Janet is a licensed physical therapist with over 30 years of experience treating people with orthopedic injuries and chronic pain. Often the benefits of physical therapy are only temporary, providing symptom relief for weeks to months.
MBS adds to traditional physical therapy approaches by taking a wholistic view of a person and their pain, looking beyond the localized pain to connected structures and the dynamics of active movement. MBS helps the practitioner and client slow down.
Slow down so that you can engage the mind, improve your awareness, focus your attention. Slow down, notice what parts of the body are in contact with the ground, notice what is moving and what is not. In her own experience, Janet found that MBS empowered her to find relief from her own pain and to move more efficiently. Her goal as an MBS practitioner and physical therapist is to teach her clients so that they can also be empowered to find their own answers to their pain.
