Overview
of the MBS Academy Programs

During many years of teaching the
Feldenkrais® Method throughout the world, Mia has honed her unique
method and approach to passing on her knowledge; we have used
Mia’s program to prepare many students to successfully apply
Moshe’s wonderful work.
The program we have developed builds on a central principle Moshe
always employed: building with extreme care, taking small, logical,
steps such as to provide time and opportunity for
anyone
to follow and succeed
in growing both personally and professionally.
We are
now launching this academic program worldwide in several chosen
centers, designed to make it available to anyone and everyone who
has ever been interested to improve themselves or others in and
through the Feldenkrais Method. The program builds on previous
knowledge as well as instilling new perspectives and abilities, and
by offering several different paths for development, allows each
one to fit in according to their unique background and future
plans.

Professional Foundation Training
provides a
comprehensive overview and taste of the entire method. Integrating
FI and ATM, every level builds solidly on the other, with personal
care and guidance enhanced by a trained team
Post
Graduate seminars Building on skills acquired during
the Guild’s Basic Training this set of seminars focuses on
Mia’s way of working: targeted instructions, observational
skills and implementation of technique effectively and cleanly. A
focus of skills on a professional level
Advanced Practitioner Training
Specific practitioner
skills, including advanced techniques, analysis of Mia’s
choices of intervention, methods and ways of observing,
communication and applying the best interventions for each client
and group, in depth skill-practice in FI, ATM and practical
applications of the most sophisticated Feldenkrais
philosophies.
This Course is divided into three 10 day
seminars:
Professional Skills Seminar,
Mentor Practitioner and
Master Practitioner
The Course Assistant Trainer seminar introduces the principles
and specific ATM and FI choices behind the Professional Foundation
program, providing an insight to the instructors’ point of
view and depth of understanding of the material. There is an
emphasis on perfecting the skills of ATM presentation and giving
FI’s under thorough guidance and supervision.
*The seminar itself is the first part
of the program, which
includes the actual assitant-ship with mentoring and supervision
during a Training
Team
Coordinator is an internship, mentor-based
program, in which Course Assistant Trainers can gain direct
experience in the planning and internal course development from
within the faculty community, taking on more responsibilities and
going deeper into Mia’s and Leora’s approach to
students with different backgrounds, talents and capabilities. The
Team Coordinator is responsible for coaching the Course Assistant
team ensures the smooth running of the seminar, care of special
cases, and teaching sections of the
curriculum.
FPT - From
Practice to Teaching Designed for qualifying future
trainers, in this most advanced course, the culmination of all the
previous trainings, courses and seminars, we cover everything we
know about teaching this work on all its levels: technique,
practice, philosophy, group dynamics, communication, running
successful trainings and courses. This program is focused firmly on
how to PASS ON the purity, power and clarity of this work, as Moshe
handed it to Mia and instilled it in Leora. This is the highest
level course in the MBS Academy and requires a special application
or invitation.
Specialized
Professional Applications Specific applications, techniques
and strategies of the work, applied to a range of professional
fields (Performing Arts, Education,
Elderly, Children, Sports, etc). These workshops focuse on
the specific needs for practitioners and teachers who want to grow
and excel in applying this work to their sphere on interest.
In all the above programs, students may choose to participate
either as candidates for qualification or for their own experience,
growth and pleasure.
Open Workshops are an introduction aimed at
introduvcing the general public to the ‘Magic of
Feldenkrais’. These workshops are conducted in
various countries and states at a circulatory patterns, and are
aimed at helping the entire Feldenkrais community by bringing this
work to public light in different regions and cultures.
