FROM
PRACTICE
TO TEACHING
THE
MOST ADVANCED COURSE IN THE FELDENKRAIS®
METHOD
The MBS
Academy wants to establish a core community of trainers qualified
and able to conduct future three-year Practitioners Training
Programs, in keeping with the approach and spirit of Moshe and as
carried on by Mia in her unique style and practice.
This is the most advanced program in Feldnekrais studies available
anywhere. In it only the most advanced and experienced students can
prepare, study and be coached through a 4 year internship in
teaching this method at its purest form, as handed directly and
personally by Moshe Feldenkrais to Mia Segal, his star pupil and
associate and to Leora Gaster, her daughter.
From Practice to Teaching, specially designed for qualifying future
trainers, we aim to pass on everything we know about
teaching—from small to the most general principles. This
program is focused firmly on how to PASS ON the purity, power and
clarity of this work, as Moshe handed it to Mia and instilled it in
Leora. This is the highest level course in the MBS Academy and
requires a special application or invitation.
To be admitted to this program, you need to receive a special
invitation or submit a comprehensive application, which will be
reviewed by the board of directors of the MBS Academy.
From
Practice to Teaching
From Practice to Teaching consists of two stages:
1. Three group-training seminars
2. Individual coaching during an actual three-year training
program
Three group-training seminars
will take place during the year of 2006; Participants are required
to attend all three seminars. Upon successful completion of these
three seminars, participants will be required to organize a
three-year training seminar of their own, according to the
guidelines and principles discussed during the group seminars. This
seminar will serve as the platform for individual coaching of
trainers by Mia and Leora.
Participants who successfully complete both stages of the FPT
program will receive an MBS Academy Trainer certificate, qualifying
them to train practitioners on behalf of the MBS Academy in
accordance with MBS Academy policies and practices. Trainers who
adhere to these policies and practices will be able to give their
students MBS Academy certificates and to include these students in
the MBS Academy’s Graduate Directory.
What topics and material
will be covered?
